NPFL: Ogunbote disappointed after 3SC loss to Enyimba
3SC head coach Gbenga Ogunbote expressed disappointment after his team’s narrow 1-0 loss to Enyimba in their matchday 20 fixture, believing they deserved at least a point from the game.
Reflecting on the match, which took place in Aba on Saturday, Ogunbote attributed the defeat to a moment of carelessness on the part of his team.
“The game has been won and lost, but we will take the positives. However, sometimes you give it your all and still don’t get the desired result. At worst, we deserved a point from this game,” he remarked to the club’s media.
“We were careless with the goal we conceded today, and it’s a situation we could have avoided. Sometimes, these things happen in the game. We will go back home, pick up the pieces, and assess what happened.”
Despite the setback, Ogunbote remains optimistic about the team’s prospects in the second half of the season.
“This is just the first game, and we still have about 18 games left in the second stanza. We need to analyze what we didn’t get right in this game and make the necessary adjustments. Once we address those issues, I am confident we will bounce back,” he concluded.
