NPFL: Ogunbote Opens Up On Nasarawa Victory
Shooting Stars coach Gbenga Ogunbote said he is relieved after the 2-0 win over Nasarawa United at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan on Sunday.
The club has had a topsy-turvy start to the new season.
Samuel Ayanrinde’s first half brace was enough to hand the Oluyole Warriors their second win of the season.
Ogunbote highlighted the importance of the win after their inconsistent start to the season.
“The most important thing is that we have the three points in the kitty because the expectation was so high. There were some games we ought to have won but we didn’t win which brought a lot of pressure on the team. I think with this, it will bring relief to the team,” he said
Shooting Stars have won two out of their first six games in the NPFL, drawing two and losing the other two.
They will be back in action against Bendel Insurance on match-day seven.
Bendel Insurance have enjoyed an impressive start to the season winning five of their six games.
