NPFL Super Six: Matchday two preview
The 2022/2023 Nigeria Premier Football League – NPFL Super Six playoffs enters its second matchday today (June 5). SPORTSRATION presents a preview of all three games.
ENYIMBA INTERNATIONAL VS LOBI STARS FC
This will be the first of three games on day two of the NPFL Super six playoffs.
A dramatic late goal denied The People’s Elephants maximum points on matchday one.
This time, they face a Lobi Stars team who have same number of points (1) following their goalless draw vs Bendel Insurance on the opening day.
Enyimba FC will start as favourites based on their pedigree and profile as the most successful team in the country.
A win for any of the two teams will boost their title chances while a draw or defeat will be a ghastly outcome.

RIVERS UNITED FC VS REMO STARS
On paper, this is the toughest match of Day two.
Current Champions Rivers United lead the standings after a 1-0 win over Sunshine stars in the opening game.
In opposition will be Remo Stars FC who have a single point following a fightback to force a 2-2 draw vs Enyimba FC on Saturday June 3.
Rivers United FC vs Remo Stars will see the first and third placed teams from last season on each others neck. A win for Rivers United FC will be huge to their title defence aspirations.
That will be at the expense of Remo Stars who will be 5-points behind the Champions. So, Coach Daniel Ogunmodede and his charges will work their socks out to stay in contention.

BENDEL INSURANCE VS SUNSHINE STARSÂ
The final game of Matchday two. Bendel Insurance were held to a goalless draw by Lobi Stars while Sunshine Stars fell 0-1 to Rivers United on day one.
Just like the other games, both teams will be eyeing maximum points to launch a title bid.
For Insurance, a win will take them into the top three and in contention for the title or at least a continental ticket.
Edith Agoye tutored Sunshine Stars on their part will be seeking redemption in this game. A defeat will all but end their hopes of finishing the season as NPFL Champions.
An interesting tie expected under the lights to end Matchday two.
