NPFL transfer: Anthony Anioke and Ifeanyi Ogba join Kwara

Ifeanyi ‘Aguero’ Ogba and strong defender Anthony Anioke have both agreed to join Kwara United ahead of the upcoming NPFL season.

Ogba, who won the NPFL title with Enugu Rangers last season, is known for his prowess as a no-nonsense forward. He is expected to bolster Kabiru Dogo’s striking department for the new season.

Anthony Anioke, one of the most solid defenders in the NPFL, will replace Isaiah Ejeh, who has left the club. Anioke, a former Under-23 player, is moving to Ilorin from Akwa United.

Anioke and Ogba were teammates at Akwa United FC in the 2022/2023 season. While Ifeanyi Ogba left the Promise Keepers to join Rangers International before the start of last season, Anthony Anioke remained with the Uyo-based club but found playing time scarce and so will see a new start in Illorin.

Both players are expected to be unveiled this week at the Kwara United Secretariat as the club’s management and coaching crew work to recruit top talent for the new NPFL term.

Kwara United have announced July 15 as the resumption date for players and coaching staff. Kabiru Dogo and his team will also participate in this year’s Value Jet Preseason tournament in Ikenne, Ogun State.
