In a thrilling Week 20 of the Nigeria Premier Football League, Remo Stars pulled off a dramatic comeback to defeat Akwa United 2-1 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium. Akwa United had taken the lead in the first half thanks to Uche Sabastine’s goal. However, Remo Stars fought back in the second half, with Samuel Anakwe equalizing in the 73rd minute, before Olamilekan Adebayo netted the winner with just six minutes remaining.
Meanwhile, in Owerri, Heartland FC triumphed over Lobi Stars with a 1-0 victory, as Emmanuel Amuneke’s tactics outshone those of Daniel Amokachi. Plateau United also secured an important 2-1 win against Rivers United, while Nasarawa United returned to form with a 1-0 win over Katsina United.
Saturday saw a series of exciting results, with Niger Tornadoes winning away against Rangers International. Sunshine Stars claimed a thrilling 4-3 victory over Ikorodu City, and Abia Warriors edged out Bayelsa United 1-0.
