#NPFL22 Matchday 6 Review: Plateau get big win as Remo win away to stay top

Plateau United secured a big win against Dakkada FC and unbeaten Remo Stars win away from home to remain top of the log as the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) gets to matchday 6.

Despite the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations where the Super Eagles are making us proud, games continued across the Federation on Saturday and Sunday.

Here is game-by-game recap of all that happened on Matchday 6.

1. Wikki Tourists 1-2 Remo Stars

Remo Stars continued their impressive run with the only away win on matchday 6. the Sky Blues Stars secured a 2-1 win against Wikki Tourist in Jos.

Dayo Ojo scored Remo’s first goal in the 11th minutes before Abdullahi Oyedele made it two in the 63rd minutes of the game.

Salisu Adamu reduced the deficit for the home team on the 74th minutes but Remo Stars hung on to their 2-1 win to stay unbeaten and atop the log.

2. Rivers United 3-0 Kwara United

NPFL top scorer Rafiu Ishaq Kayode scored his 5th league goal of the season as Rivers United trash visiting Kwara United.

Nyima Nwagua scored the game’s first goal in the 32nd minutes, Rafiu Ishaq Kayode scored his 5th goal of the campaign in the 51st minutes via a penalty and Chidiebube Duru completed the rout in the 53rd minute.

3. Rangers 2-0 MFM

Tope Olusesi and Ossy Martins scored in the first half to hand Rangers a 2-0 win against sorry MFM FC. Tope Olusesi scored in the 16th minutes while Ossy Martins scored Rangers second goal of the game via a penalty.

4. Abia Warriors 1-0 Heartland

Innocent Gabriel 9th minutes strike gave Abia Warriors a 1-0 win against Heartland.

5. Kano Pillars 1-0 Niger Tornadoes

Mark Daniel 49th minutes strike settled the tie in favour of Kano Pillars.

6. 3SC 2-2 Sunshine Stars

Gafar Olafimihan scored Shooting Stars first goal in the 22nd minutes but Sunshine Stars responded with two goals, the equaliser through Anthony Anioke in the 40th minutes and the lead through Nwogbaga Ebonam in the 61th minutes.

But Shooting Stars got their equaliser in the 73rd minutes through Wasiu Alalade.

7. Gombe United 0-0 Enyimba

Gombe United and Enyimba shared the spoils.

8. Nasarawa United 2-1 Lobi Stars

Justice Uche scored the first goal of the game in the 24th minutes, he nodded home Chris Madaki’s free kick.

Lobi equalized as an unmarked Onyebuchi Onyeka tapped in Adams Olamilekan’s corner in the 47th minutes.

Aliyu Abdullahi 72nd minutes strike handed Nasarawa the lead and the winning goal.

9. Akwa United 2-0 Katsina United

A goal either halve from Charles Okafor in the 12th minutes and Friday Ubong in the 46th minutes handed the champions a 2-0 win against Katsina United.

10. Plateau Utd 5-0 Dakkada FC

Anthony Sunday scored a brace in Plateau’s 5-0 win against Dakkada FC. Aliko Bala opened the scoring in the 16th minutes of the game.

Anthony Sunday scored his first goal of the game and Plateau’s second in the 46th minutes of the game, Jesse Akila made it three in the 66th minutes of the game.

Anthony Sunday completed his brace in the 77th minutes and Albert Hilary completed the 5-0 rout.
