NPFL23 Matchday 10: Akwa United, Doma United, Plateau secure wins on return

Bendel Insurance escape with point from Aba, Kwara United secure win

Akwa United started the second stanza of the abridged NPFL23 season with a bang as they secured a 2-0 win over Shooting Stars at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo. The Promise Keepers won the game thanks to a quickfire double in the second half from Ubong Friday and Taiye Muritala.

Doma United continued punching above their weight as they took down Group B leaders Lobi Stars at the Pantami Stadium in Gombe. The Savannah Tigers secured a 2-0 win thanks to goals from Daniel Barnabas and Maurice Chigozie.

Plateau United defeated Gombe United 2-0 in their NPFL23 Matchday 10 clash in Jos. Goals from Izuchukwu Chimezie and Nenrot Silas gave the Peace Boys maximum points from the encounter.

Abia Warriors held Rivers United to a 1-1 draw in their clash at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt. Kalu Nweke opened the scoring for the Umuahia Landlords before Morice Chukwu scored a last-gasp equaliser for the reigning champions.

Kwara United claimed a 2-0 win over ElKanemi Warriors at the Akure Township Stadium in their NPFL23 Matchday 10 encounter. Late goals from Anthony Omaka and Samad Kadiri handed them all three points from the clash.

Remo Stars picked up a narrow 1-0 win over Nasarawa United at their home stadium in Ikenne. Samuel Anakwe scored the only goal for the Sky Blue Stars in the clash.

Enyimba were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Bendel Insurance in their NPFL23 Matchday 10 clash. Top scorer Chukwuemeka Obioma opened the scoring for the People’s Elephant from the penalty spot in the first half before Imade Osarenkhoe fired home a free-kick late in the game to level matters.

Rangers came from behind to defeat Bayelsa United 2-1 in their NPFL23 Matchday 10 clash. Bayelsa United took the lead through Alex Oyowah in the first half before two second-half penalties from Godwin Obaje and Chidera Ezeh gave the Flying Antelopes maximum points at home.

Sunshine Stars denied Wikki Tourist a happy homecoming on their return to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi, holding them to a 1-1 draw. Idris Muhammed Guda opened the scoring for the home side before Cletus Emotan scored a late equaliser for Sunshine Stars.

Niger Tornadoes secured a massive away win against Dakkada in their NPFL23 Matchday 10 meeting. The visitors went ahead thanks to goals from David Okoromi and Jonas Emmanuel inside the opening 15 minutes before Aniekan Ekpe scored a stoppage time consolation from the penalty spot for the home side.
