NPFL23 Matchday 12: Bayelsa United thrash Abia Warriors, Akwa United edge Enyimba

Bayelsa United plundered goals past Abia Warriors, picking up a 5-1 win at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa to claim three points from their NPFL23 Matchday 12 encounter. The first half of the encounter saw all the goals for both sides. Robert Mizo opened the scoring after only six minutes with his eighth goal of the season before Alex Jerry added a second in the 26th minute. Ten minutes later, Alex Oyowah made it three before Wisdom Ikechi scored his side’s fourth in the 38th minute. Akwa United picked up a narrow win at home to Enyimba to consolidate second place in Group A. The Promise Keepers won 1-0 thanks to a goal from Uche Collins after 73 minutes.
Plateau United held leaders Bendel Insurance to a 1-1 draw in their NPFL23 Matchday 12 clash in Jos. The home side took the lead through Izuchukwu Chimezie before Deputy Echeta scored an equaliser for the Benin Arsenal.
Shooting Stars picked up a vital 1-0 win over Kwara United in their NPFL23 Matchday 12 encounter at the Ondo State Sports Complex. The Oluyole Warriors found a way to win despite missing a second-half penalty, with Akpan Joshua scoring the winner in the 90th minute.

Wikki Tourist picked up a 3-1 win over NNL-bound Dakkada FC in their NPFL23 Matchday 12 encounter in Bauchi. Chibundu Amah opened the scoring for Wikki before Jonathan Prosper equalised for Dakkada FC. Ibrahim Salisu and Amah scored the other two goals as Wikki Tourist ran out with three points.
Enugu Rangers held Lobi Stars to a 1-1 draw in Awka, denying them a first win since the restart. Lobi Stars took the lead through Elijah Ani before Godwin Obaje equalised for the Flying Antelopes.
Yesterday, ElKanemi Warriors picked up their first away win of the season after a 2-1 win over fellow strugglers Nasarawa United. Ugochukwu Ujah opened the scoring for ElKanemi Warriors before a James Isaac penalty saw the Solid Miners draw level. Jacob Jonathan scored in the 89th minute to give the visitors maximum point.
