NPFL23 Matchday Nine: Insurance end first stanza unbeaten as Lobi Stars defeat Doma United

Bendel Insurance ended the first half of the season with a 1-0 win over Enyimba in their NPFL23 Matchday Nine encounter in Benin. Talented forward Imade Osarenkhoe scored his sixth goal of the season to hand the Benin Arsenal all three points and ensure that they ended Enyimba’s three-game winning run in Group A.

Shooting Stars were held to a 2-2 draw at home by Akwa United in their NPFL23 Matchday Nine clash in Ibadan. Akpan Joshua opened the scoring for the Oluyole Warriors before Uche Collins scored for the second straight game to draw the visitors level. Ahmadu Liman scored to put Akwa United ahead minutes later before Ajani Ibrahim equalised for the home side.

Bayelsa United played out a 1-1 draw at home to Rangers in their encounter at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa. Former Abia Warriors striker Godwin Obaje opened the scoring for the Flying Antelopes with his first goal of the season before Robert Mizo equalised for Bayelsa United with his fifth goal of the season.

Sunshine Stars claimed a hard-fought 1-0 win over Wikki Tourist in their NPFL23 Matchday Nine clash. Samson Olasupo scored the game’s only goal in the second half to give the Owena Waves maximum points at home.

Niger Tornadoes picked up their first win in three matches as they overcame Dakkada FC 1-0 in their Matchday Nine encounter. David Okoromi scored for the second consecutive match to hand the Ikon Allah Boys the three points from the clash.
