NPFL24 Match day 10: Lobi Stars keep top spot as Enyimba, Kwara United win

Sunshine Stars defeat Sporting Lagos, Bendel Insurance hold Kano Pillars

Lobi Stars kept their place atop the NPFL24 standings with a 2-1 win over Shooting Stars in their NPFL24 Matchday 10 clash. Waheed Adebayo opened the scoring for Lobi, before Gideon Monday equalised for Shooting Stars. Orji Kalu scored a later penalty to give Lobi Stars the win at home.

Enyimba secured an impressive away win over Oriental rivals Heartland for the first time since 2015. The People’s Elephant spoiled the day for Kennedy Boboye in his first game in charge of the Naze Millionaires in Owerri, with Stephen Chukwude scoring the game’s only goal in the 81st minute.

Kwara United continued to impress with a 2-0 win at home to Gombe United in their NPFL24 clash. Alao Muhammed opened the scoring for the Afonja Warriors before Abubakar Garba added a second in the second half.

Sunshine Stars took the glory in their Southwest derby meeting with Sporting Lagos via a 1-0 scoreline in Akure. Moses Omodumueke scored the game’s only goal to give the Owena Waves maximum points.

Bendel Insurance held Kano Pillars to a goalless draw at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano. Super Eagles goalie Amas Obasogie was instrumentals as he saved a penalty for the Benin Arsenal to help them pick up an away point.

Remo Stars and Doma United played out a goalless draw in Ikenne, extending the Savannah Tigers’ unbeaten run to six games in NPFL24.

Abia Warriors claimed a narrow 1-0 win at home to Enugu Rangers in their Oriental derby. Collins Nwoburuoke got the lone goal for the Umiahia Landlords in their NPFL24 Matchday 10 clash.

Niger Tornadoes picked up a first win in six attempts as they defeated Akwa United thanks to a strike from Bashiru Usman. The Ikon Allah boys move up to 17th following the triumph.

Katsina United played out a 1-1 draw at home to Bayelsa United in their NPFL24 Matchday 10 clash. Tekena Garando opened the scoring for the Prosperity Boys before Lukman Bello equalised for Katsina United at home.
