NTA to broadcast all 2023 AFCON games
The Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) has officially confirmed its commitment to broadcasting all 52 matches scheduled for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The confirmation came through a tweet posted on Wednesday morning by the TV station.
The NTA revealed that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been successfully signed with Afro Sports for the comprehensive transmission of the AFCON games.
The tweet read, “Newsflash: NTA signs memorandum of understanding with Afro Sports for transmission of 52 matches of Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.”
Football enthusiasts across the country can now breathe a sigh of relief, as concerns mounted over how they would access the AFCON matches.
Earlier announcements from MultiChoice had indicated that Super Sports would not be airing the games, as they were unsuccessful in securing the broadcasting rights through the bidding process.
