Nwabali trains fully with Super Eagles ahead of Angola clash
Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, participated in a full training session with his teammates on Thursday, Febuary 1, 2024 ahead of the quarter-final clash against Angola.
Nigeria head coach Jose Peseiro revealed that Nwabali will undergo a late fitness test to determine his availability for the Africa Cup of Nations quater-final game on Febuary, 2, 2024.
During the training session, Nwabali engaged in all drills alongside fellow goalkeepers Francis Uzoho and Ojo Olorunleke. The 27-year-old’s full participation in training indicates a positive step toward his recovery.
Nwabali has been a key figure for the Super Eagles, keeping three clean sheets in four outings at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
His potential return to full fitness provides Coach Peseiro with additional options in the goalkeeping department.
The Super Eagles are gearing up for the quarter-final clash against Angola, scheduled to take place at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan on Friday.
If deemed fit, Nwabali could be in contention to start the game, contributing to Nigeria’s quest for success in the tournament.
