NWFL Champions Delta Queens get CAF Champions League zonal Qualification opponents

NWFL Champions, Delta Queens have  been drawn in Group A for 2023 CAF Women Champions League WAFU Zone B Qualifiers.

For their first ever appearance on the continent, Delta Queens FC will take on USFA (Burkina Faso), Atletico D’Abidjan (Cote d’Ivoire) and Sam Nelly FC (Benin Republic).

The Zonal qualifiers serves as route to the CAF Women’s Champions League proper, where seven teams plus the host country will battle for the continental crown.

In the previous two editions, Nigeria was represented by Rivers Angels FC and Bayelsa Queens FC whose hopes of returning to the continent was clipped by Delta Queens in the Nigeria Women’s Football League Playoffs final in June.

The WAFU Zone B CAF women’s champions league qualifiers will take place from August 18 in Cote D’Ivoire.

The winner of this tournament will book the only champions league ticket available for WAFU Zone B.
