NWFL Lifts Spectator Ban on Ibom Angels, Confirms Ekiti Queens’ Return Home

The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) has lifted the spectator restriction on Ibom Angels FC home matches in Uyo.
The ban was originally imposed after incidents involving crowd control and breaches of matchday rules, which forced the club to play recent home games behind closed doors.
After reviewing Ibom Angels’ matchday operations, including security and adherence to league guidelines, the NWFL is satisfied the club has met all requirements. Supporters will be allowed back in the stadium starting with Matchday 12 against Adamawa Queens on Wednesday, March 25, at 4pm at the Uyo Township Stadium.
In a related announcement, the NWFL has confirmed the return of Ekiti Queens to their home ground in Ado-Ekiti. The Southwest club had been relocated to Abeokuta due to previous breaches of matchday organisation and security rules.
Having completed the sanction and shown full compliance with league standards, Ekiti Queens will resume hosting their home matches from Matchday 12 of the 2025/26 NWFL Premiership season. The club is set to officially welcome supporters back on Matchday 15, when they face Pacesetter Queens.
The NWFL reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining professionalism, safety, and integrity at all match venues and commended both clubs for cooperating fully during the period of their sanctions.
