NWFL: Remo Stars grab first win, away draws for Rivers and Heartland Queens, Week four review

The 2023/2024 Nigeria Women’s Football League [NWFL] season entered week four with matches decided across eight venues. See review here.

Remo Stars Ladies kicked off their 2023/2024 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) campaign with a resounding 2-0 triumph over Edo Queens. Innocent Patricia broke the deadlock in the 7th minute, swiftly followed by Esther Ogbona Akudo, who doubled the lead in the 40th minute.

Confluence Queens recorded a convincing 2-0 win against Abia Angels in Abuja, with Feranmi Feehezah and Mary Mamudu finding the net. Meanwhile, in Yenogoa, Rose Ekong’s 55th-minute strike secured a 1-1 draw for Bayelsa Queens against Rivers Angels, who relied on Motunrayo Ezekiel for their goal.

Ekiti Queens clinched a narrow victory over Sunshine Queens, with Miracle Ohaeri scoring the solitary goal. In Gombe, Adamawa Queens came from behind to defeat Nasarawa Amazon 2-1. Bisola Mosaku gave Nasarawa Amazon the lead in the 8th minute, but goals from Oluwaseun Amani and Injomanco Mngunengen turned the tide in favor of Adamawa Queens.

Dannaz Ladies emerged victorious in a 2-1 contest against Royal Queens in Lagos. Katherine Gabriel opened the scoring for Royal Queens in the 38th minute, but Fatimo Solaty equalized in the 88th minute. Mary Aduramomi sealed the win with a goal in the 93rd minute.
