Former Super Eagles player Obafemi Martins has shared his thoughts on which national team his son, Kelvin Martins, will play for. Kelvin, who was born in Milan 19 years ago, can represent Italy, Nigeria, or Ghana, as he has connections to all three countries.
The Italian Football Federation has shown interest in having him play for Italy, but Kelvin has not yet decided and could still choose Nigeria or Ghana.
Obafemi Martins said he would prefer his son to play for Nigeria, rather than Ghana or Italy. Speaking to Babatunde Ojora, he said, “Hopefully, he will play for Nigeria. We’ll see, as he is part Nigerian.
Kelvin’s uncle, Oladipupo Martins, was also a footballer, and his other uncle, Mario Balotelli, is a former Manchester City player. Kelvin’s playing style and skills, like his speed and dribbling, are similar to his father’s.
