Odey the matchwinner as Amiens SC win in Ligue 2
Nigerian striker, Stephen Odey scored a wonderful header for Amiens SC in their 1-0 Ligue 2 victory over Châteauroux at the Stade de la Licorne. The goal was the 23 year old’s third of the league season in 15 appearances for the club.
The former FC Zurich striker, who is on loan from Belgian Jupiler League side KRC Genk was introduced as a first half sub following an injury to Jayson Papeau in the 29th minute of the encounter. Odey needed only 9 minutes to register for his team, perfectly timing his jump to head a bouncing right wing cross over the stranded Châteauroux keeper. He finished the match with a 90th minute yellow card having scored the match winner for his side
Odey first made his name when he broke out in the NPFL, finishing as top scorer of the 2015/16 season for MFM FC after he was scouted as a secondary school student playing in the GTBank Principals’ Cup at Dairy Farm High School in Lagos.
