It’s Official, Cole Palmer has joined Chelsea on £40m deal, contract until June 2030 from English Premier League Champions Manchester City.
The official announcement arrived on Friday September 1, after the player put pen to paper on a seven year contract.
Chelsea FC will pay £40m plus £2.5m in add-ons to Man City for the left footed English player who can play from the right wing or in an attacking midfield role.
The 21-year-old had hoped to earn more opportunities at City following Riyad Mahrez’s move to the Saudi Pro League. Palmer made an encouraging start to the season, scoring against Arsenal in the Community Shield against Arsenal and Sevilla in the Super Cup, and he played a pivotal role in England’s Under-21s winning the European Championships this summer.
In his first words as a Chelsea FC player Cole Palmer said “I have joined Chelsea because the project here sounds good and because of the platform I will have to try to showcase my talents.”
Manchester City also paid glowing tribute to Cole Palmer who rose from the academy to first team at the Etihad.
” All the best for the future, Cole! 🌟 ” A Man City message read minutes after Cole Palmer completed a permanent move to Chelsea.
