Official: Paul Offor unveiled as Kano Pillars head coach
Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Kano Pillars FC have intensified their preparation for the upcoming season with the appointment of a new coach.
As earlier reported by SportsRation, The Kano-based club had been without a permanent coach since the sacking of Abdu Maikaba. Mohamed Gambo took charge on an interim basis until the end of last season, after which the club declared the coaching position vacant.
On Friday, July 12, 2024, Kano Pillars announced Paul Offor as the new head coach. His appointment comes ahead of the new season, which is scheduled to start on August 31, 2024.
Last season, the new Pillars boss was in charge of the now-relegated Sporting Lagos FC. Paul Offor famously guided the Lagos boys to promotion but was sacked towards the end of the season, a move which may have contributed to the club’s unfortunate relegation at the end of the 2023/2024 NPFL season.
He arrives in Kano Pillars a club with very rich history and will look to make his mark in Kano.
