OFFICIAL: Slavia Prague sign Nigerian star Moses
Slavia Prague have officially signed 20-year-old Nigerian midfielder David Moses from MFK Karviná, another club in the Czech Republic.
Moses has signed a contract that will keep him at Slavia Prague until December 31, 2029. He hopes to follow in the footsteps of other successful Nigerian players at the club.
Moses joined Karviná in March 2022 after coming through their youth academy. He made his debut for the team in a match against Slavia Prague in November 2022, a game Slavia won 2-0.
In the 2023/24 season, Moses played 25 league games and helped Karviná stay in the Czech top division after a successful playoff against Vyškov. This season, he has made 13 appearances and contributed to Karviná’s current 11th-place position.
After signing his contract, Moses expressed his happiness. “I feel great, I’m very happy. It’s a big step for me,” he said.
Moses also mentioned how Nigerian players at Slavia Prague have inspired him, especially Peter Olayinka, who he called a “legend.” He also spoke about other Nigerians at the club, like Ogbu and Tijani, who have motivated him to succeed.
Slavia Prague, despite a recent loss to Teplice, are still leading the Czech league with 50 points from 19 games, seven points ahead of Viktoria Plzeň and 13 ahead of defending champions Sparta Prague. With Moses’ addition, the club aims to maintain their strong position in Czech football and continue their success in Europe.
