Okocha names two players he would have loved to play with

Ex Super Eagles skipper Austin Jay-Jay Okocha has named two players he would have loved to play with, during his active days.

In a video shared by GOAL AFRICA, Okocha named Ghana’s Micheal Essien and Ivory Coast ex International, Yaya Toure as midfield players who would have suited his style of play.

The former Bolton Wanderers man was however happy to have shared the pitch with Sunday Oliseh, whom he acknowledged, tackled harder than Essien and Yaya Toure.

The choice of Essien and Toure, Okocha cha explained was due to his desire to have, teammates who are willing to defend, tackle and free him him to dazzle in the middle of the pack

Okocha said ” I would have loved to play with Michael Essien as well as Yaya Toure.

“I think he [Yaya Toure] was a complete midfield player for me, not just offensive. He presses as well and used to do a lot of defensive work, but not that he tackles like Essien or even Oliseh,

“You know it’s all about covering the right areas, knowing where to be, how to mark, and yes, with his goals, I can’t say that I wouldn’t have loved to play alongside him,”

There are few of them because, I mean sometimes, players like me, you need somebody who will do the dirty job for you,” he said.

Also, Okocha fondly eulogized the selfless style of Sunday Oliseh, saying he was the one who did the dirty job.

“ I will say I played with one. You know that he was doing most of the dirty job, [Sunday] Oliseh.” Okocha said.
