Okogie gets 6th straight starts as Durant debuts in Suns 105-91 win at Hornets
Durant stars in long awaited Suns debut
Josh Okogie has played in his 6th consecutive games for the Phoenix Suns who secured a 105-91 win against The Charlotte Hornets at the Spectrum Center on Wednesday.
Incidentally, two-time finals MVP Kevin Durant also made his long awaited Suns debut on the night.
Josh Okogie was averaging 18.5 points and 5.8 rebounds over his last six games while shooting 53.4% from the field before the Hornets game.
In the Hornet game whi was his 6th consecutive starts for the Suns, he was only reduced to 4 points as he went 0-of-4 from the field goal.
His shot attempts was reduced from an average of 12 in his last six games where he has averaged 18.5 points.
The reduction in shot attempts is understandable when you are in a starting five consisting of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, Deandre Ayton, and Chris Paul.
Okogie as usual helped in the defensive end, the D’Tiger guard had the joint highest steal (2), 2nd hisghest efficiency (+11) amongst the starters.
Durant who lasted 29 minutes on the court contributed 23 points as the Suns improved their season record to 34-29 as they remain 4th in the West standings.
