Ola Aina on the transfer wishlist of top Serie A club

Nigerian defender Ola Aina could be on the move this January, as AS Roma are reportedly interested in signing him. The Italian club is looking to take advantage of Aina’s contract situation at Nottingham Forest.

Aina, 28, joined Nottingham Forest from Torino in the summer of 2023 on a short-term deal. Since then, he has been in impressive form, and Forest’s coach, Nuno Espirito Santo, has expressed the club’s desire to offer him a new long-term contract. However, Roma is now closely monitoring the situation and preparing to make a move.

According to reports from Italian media, Roma’s coach, Ivan Juric, is keen on reuniting with Aina, having previously worked with him at Torino. Roma plans to offer around €12 million for the versatile defender during the January transfer window.

Aina is currently on international duty with the Nigerian Super Eagles and is expected to play in their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Libya.
