Ola Aina to join Awoniyi, Dennis at Forest
Nigerian defender Ola Aina is set to join compatriots Taiwo Awoniyi and Emmanuel Dennis at Nottingham Forest on a free transfer this summer, SportsRation reports.
26-year old Aina has been without a club following the expiration of his contract with Italian Serie A side Torino at the end of the 2022/2023 season.
According The Telegraph UK who first reported the story, the Super Eagles right-back will join Nottingham Forest on a free transfer after flying into Spain on Friday to undergo a medical at the club’s training base in Valencia.
When complete, the transfer will unite Ola Aina with International teammates Taiwo Awoniyi and Emmanuel Dennis who both joined Steve Copper tutored Forest last summer.
This will not be his first English Premier League move, Aina, a former Chelsea trainee had his most recent Premier League experience at Fulham in the 2020/21 season.
In a related development, Nottingham Forest are also set to sign Manchester United forward Anthony Elanga in a £15 million deal.
Elanga will have a medical in Nottingham over the weekend before becoming the second signing of the summer for Steve Cooper.
The Sweden international has rejected offers from Everton, West Ham and Marseille to join Forest, who agreed a fee with United earlier on Friday. Elanga will end a nine-year association with United to move to the City Ground.
