Olympic Eagles invitee Evans Iyebi happy to fulfill childhood dream

When Evans Iyebi received the call-up to join the Nigeria U-23 men’s team, it was a fulfillment of his childhood dream.
Coach Salisu Yusuf handed invitation to the Akwa United FC left-back to join the Olympic Eagles camp in Ibadan following passport hitches to previously invited players.

The youngster took to his Facebook page to celebrate his first National team call-up which he explained was a fulfillment of his childhood dream of wearing the national colours.
Evans wrote “Proud to earn my first National team call-up.
” I’ve always imagined myself wearing the Nigeria shirt since I was a kid. Now I’m living in the reality of that.
” This is a big win for all of us. Giving up is never an option, never forget that. ” He concluded.
Nigeria will travel to Dar Es Salaam for the first leg of their U-23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers vs Tanzania this weekend.
The return leg is scheduled to hold on October 29, 2022 at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan.
