Omoyele comes back to haunt Plateau United in NPFL

Helps Enyimba open up 6 point gap at summit

Enyimba striker, Tosin Omoyele came back to haunt his former employers, Plateau United as he scored a well-taken brace to help Enyimba win 2-1 at home in Aba.

The former COD United and Plateau United striker struck first in the 27th minute to give Enyimba the lead, before he finished off one of the best team goals of the season so far as 8 of the 11 players in Enyimba blue touched the ball in the build up to the goal to make it 2-0 in the 30th minute. It was his third goal in this season’s NPFL. Their opponents, Plateau United pulled one back in the 76th minute with a well taken header from Moses Effiong as he scored his first ever Plateau United goal.

After their Matchday 9 victory, Enyimba now have a comfortable 6 point cushion at the top of the NPFL, with nearest rivals, Rivers United due to face Nasarawa United this weekend in the league as well. Plateau United on the other hand continue to struggle in mid-table.
