The NFF Elections in Edo State on Friday September 30 produced a fresh set of leaders to man the Glass house for the next four years (2022-2026) .
Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau succeeded Amaju Pinnick as the President of the Nigeria Football Federation , defeating the likes of Seyi Akinwunmi , Mallam Shehu Dikko and three others to the coveted seat in Benin City .
As with every new government, Nigerians are passionately on the watch to see what steps the new Executive Committee will take towards the development of football in Nigeria .

ONE THING THE BOARD SHOULD DO IMMEDIATELYÂ
 NIGERIA PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE REFORMS
The Nigeria Professional Football League – NPFL is in need of drastic reforms to allow for it’s smooth operation in line with global best practices .
Nigerians will be looking forward to a reformed 2022/2023 NPFL season , devoid of black heads like Hooliganism , Indeptedness to Match officials , inconsistent board room decisions , fixtures inconsistencies etc .
It is the view of this writer that the NFF Executive Committee gives the Interim Management Committee – IMC setup by the sports ministry all financial and moral support to chart a new course for the NPFL .
The Composition of the Gbenga Elegbeleye led IMC with men of proven integrity and capacity is one that offers hope for a reformed 2022/2023 NPFL season .
The fans will be happy to have the league on TV if not this season but before the next , a league time table , a title sponsor to increase competition which will boost the quality of play and a complete departure from the days where actions which brought the league into disrepute are treated with kid gloves.
This writer will suggest the NFF Board takes time to ensure everything necessary for the successful running of a professional league is in place before sanctioning the commencement of the new season .
CONCLUSION
The election that produced the Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau led NFF Executive Committee was peaceful and thus they will enjoy the support and well wishes of majority of the stakeholders to do well.
It is therefore in their hands to take the bull by the horn and pilot Nigerian football to greater heights .
Our wishes are for a successful tenure with the blessings of International successes at all levels that by the time this tenure elapses in September 2026 , Nigerians will be cheering them into another term in office .
