“Only He Could Score a Goal Like That” – Samsunspor President Praises Osimhen After Dramatic Galatasaray Win

Victor Osimhen stole the headlines on Friday night after his brilliant stoppage-time bicycle kick gave Galatasaray a 3–2 win over Samsunspor at a noisy RAMS Park. The Nigerian striker scored twice on his return from injury, including the stunning 93rd-minute winner that left fans jumping to their feet.

But while Galatasaray celebrated, Samsunspor also received praise for their fighting spirit. After going 2–0 down, the visitors pulled the game back to 2–2 through Anthony Musaba and Emre Kılınç, and looked set to take a valuable point. That was until Osimhen produced a moment of world-class quality to win the match.

After the final whistle, Samsunspor president Yüksel Yıldırım was full of admiration for the Galatasaray forward. He said Osimhen showed exactly why his signing cost such a high fee in the summer. According to Yıldırım, the striker’s winning goal proved he is worth even more than the €75 million Galatasaray reportedly paid.

Yıldırım explained that the atmosphere inside the stadium was so loud in the second half that he could barely hear himself. He praised his team for taking control after the break and said they could have scored more, but admitted that Osimhen’s late strike was something no other player in Türkiye could produce.

“When we made it 2–2 in the 88th minute, we thought we would leave with a draw,” he said. “But Osimhen showed why he is an €80 million player. Only he could score a goal like that.”

Osimhen’s brace takes him to five goals in ten league matches this season and gives Galatasaray a boost as they prepare for important league games and a Champions League meeting with Monaco. The striker has now scored five times in just three outings against Samsunspor, making them one of his favourite opponents.

The win keeps Galatasaray four points clear at the top of the Turkish Super Lig, and the club will hope Osimhen continues his strong form before heading off for the Africa Cup of Nations.
