Onuachu Happy With Two Goals But Says Team Comes First

Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu says he is happy after scoring twice for Trabzonspor on Saturday, but he believes the team’s success is more important than his own achievements.
Onuachu scored both goals when Trabzonspor faced Konyaspor at Papara Park in the Turkish Super Lig. His team went behind early, but he pulled them level with a penalty in the first half. He then scored again early in the second half after a good pass from teammate Mustafa Eskihellac.
Trabzonspor went on to win the match 3–1, with Ernest Muci adding the third goal. Onuachu’s brace put him at the top of the Turkish Super Lig scoring chart with 11 goals, one ahead of Eldor Shomurodov of Istanbul Basaksehir.
After the match, Onuachu said he felt good about reaching double figures, but winning the game was what mattered most.
“It feels good to score 11 goals. But the most important thing is to win,” he said. “We started the match a little slowly, but after we conceded, we woke up. The team fought well and showed our real game.”
He added that the squad is closely bonded. “This team can achieve great things. We are a family. When my teammates score, I am as happy as if I scored. Everyone is working hard.”
Trabzonspor are currently third in the Super Lig, just one point behind leaders Galatasaray, who still have a game to play against Fenerbahce.
