Onuachu stars in Genk Croky Cup triumph
Striker delivers assist in win over Standard Liege
Nigerian hotshot, Paul Onuachu played a starring role for his side, KRC Genk as they picked up a 2-1 win in the final of the Belgian Croky Cup against Standard Liege.
Onuachu assisted one goal as second half goals from Junya Ito and Theo Bongonda put Genk in the driving seat of the game before Jackson Mukela pulled one back for Standard Liege to give the game a nervy finale. Genk held on to win the title, their first triumph this season. As a result of their success in the cup, Genk have earned a place in next season’s UEFA Europa League. Nigerian striker, Cyriel Desserts was an unused sub for KRC Genk.
Onuachu is having a mind blowing season with Genk, having already contributed 31 goals and 4 assists so far this season for the Belgian side.
