Onyeka in action as Bees sting Chelsea at Stamford Bridge
Nigerian Midfielder Frank Onyeka was in action from the start as Brentford defeated Chelsea FC 0-2 at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League.
Bees manager Thomas Frank named the combative Super Eagles midfielder in the starting XI , his 5th start of the 2022 season as they chased a first league win since March 15.
Onyeka thought he had won Brentford a penalty in the 30th minute but the Referee waved away their appeals. seven minutes later, the breakthrough arrived.
Chelsea skipper turned into his own net to hand the visitors a 0-1 advantage at half-time.
The Blues will push for an equalizer in the second half to no avail, instead the visitors added a second through Bryan Mbuemo to seal a 0-2 win.
Frank Onyeka was substituted mid-way through the second half and will be satisfied with his performances against the Blues who have lost all-five games under interim manager Frank Lampard.
Brentford will face relegation battling Nottingham Forest on Saturday before a tough looking fixture list vs Liverpool, West Ham, Tottenham and title chasing Manchester City to end the 2022/2023 season.
