Onyeka In Action As Brentford clip win-less streak
Nigerian midfielder Frank Onyeka was in action as Brentford FC clipped a two-months long win-less streak with a 3-0 victory over Burnley on Saturday October 21.
Fresh from scoring his first International goal in Nigeria’s 3-2 win over Mozambique in a friendly game on Monday, October 16, Onyeka was named in the starting XI for the English Premier League home game for Brentford FC.
Yoane Wissa opened the scoring in the 25th minute before Bryan Mbeumo made it 2-0 on 62 minutes.
Onyeka was replaced in the 84th minute, his replacement Sayed Ghoddos added the third goal for Brentford in the 87th minute.
With the win, Brentford move up to 14th place on 10 points on the log after securing just their second league win of the season.
In other concluded English Premier League games, Nigerian defender Ola Aina returned from injury and was subbed on in Nottingham Forest’s 2-2 home draw with Luton Town.
Julian Alvarez and Erling Haaland scored to help Manchester City edge Brighton 2-1 while Newcastle United thrashed Crystal Palace 4-0 and Wolves came from behind to beat Bournemouth 1-2.
In the North London derby, a late Arsenal FC fightback forced a 2-2 draw vs Chelsea FC at Stamford Bridge.
Sheffield United FC and Manchester United FC will look horns in the late kickoff by 8pm.
