OFFICIAL: Onyekuru seals €15m AS Monaco move
AS Monaco have announced the signing of Henry Onyekuru from Premier League side Everton, with the forward penning five-year contract deal which will keep him at the Stade Louis II until 2024.
The Nigeria international, who was on loan at Galatasaray last season, joined the French side on a reported fee of €15m.
During his loan spell with Turkish club, Onyekuru scored 16 goals and provided 6 assists in all competitions for the Gala.
On the capture of the Nigerian winger, Monaco Supremo Oleg Petrov said:
“We are very happy to have Henry Onyekuru with us. He has demonstrated his qualities in recent seasons. He is a fast and powerful offensive player who will strengthen our offensive sector. We welcome him.”
Meanwhile, Onyekuru himself expressed enthusiasm on sealing the move to the Principality club, promising total commitment to the course of the Ligue 1 outfit.
“I am very happy to join a big club like AS Monaco. I will give everything to progress and help the Club to make a good season. I can not wait to meet my teammates.”
Onyekuru was a member of the Nigeria team that finished third at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
