Oshoala on target as FC Barcelona hand Manchester City women heaviest UWCL defeat ever
Super Falcons captain, Asisat Oshoala scored the opener for her side, FC Barcelona Femeni as they defeated English side, Manchester City Women in the first leg of their UEFA Women’s Champions League quarterfinal in Monza, Italy by three goals to nil.
Oshoala opened the scoring in the 35th minute with a fierce drive from outside the box that left the Manchester City keeper rooted to the spot as the ball went in at the widest possible point, hitting the post on its way in. Mariona Caldentey added a second from the penalty spot in the 53rd minute before substitute, Jenni Hermoso put the icing on the cake with a fine strike in the 86th minute.
Barcelona have now won their home leg of the quarterfinals and have one foot in the semifinals already, and they did it in style as they handed Manchester City their biggest defeat in their time in the Women’s Champions League.
