Osimhen claps back at fans after criticism over his refusal to congratulate Lookman
Victor Osimhen has responded to fans after some claimed he didn’t celebrate Ademola Lookman winning African Footballer of the Year.
The Super Eagles star and Galatasaray forward faced some criticism after fans noticed he didn’t post a public message to congratulate Lookman. Instead, Osimhen posted about luxury items like a custom-made diamond pendant worth millions.
While Lookman was celebrating his win in Marrakech, Osimhen shared a picture of his expensive pendant, designed by famous New York jeweler Benny the Jeweler. The pendant featured over 275 carats of emerald and carbon fiber, shaped into Osimhen’s signature mask.
Fans didn’t like this, and many asked why Osimhen hadn’t congratulated Lookman. Hours later, Osimhen posted more pictures of himself wearing Louis Vuitton outfits on X (formerly Twitter).
The situation got heated when one fan directly asked Osimhen why he hadn’t congratulated Lookman, saying, “You never congratulate Lookman, wey tin sup?” Osimhen quickly replied, saying, “Done since yesterday around 23:49 Turkish time.”
Another fan claimed Osimhen didn’t congratulate Lookman on Twitter. Osimhen responded, “Them dey joke, them no say I definitely congratulate am immediately after my game.”
Osimhen’s response may have cleared things up for some, but others still have mixed feelings. Either way, Osimhen has made it clear he congratulated Lookman privately.
