Says Napoli wants to build on from the tough win
Victor Osimhen has explained his hand gesture celebration after scoring a wonder goal against Roma to help Napoli win 1-0 at the Stadio Olimpico in a league game on Sunday.
The Super Eagles striker scored a late goal to hand Napoli a tough win against Roma to go three points clear atop the Serie A log.
Osimhen scored from a tight angle after receiving a long pass from substitute Matteo Politano in the 80th minute of the game.

Osimhen goal v Roma
During his post-match interview, Victor Osimhen congratulated his teammates for claiming an important win in a tough game.
“Congratulations to the team, Roma gave us a tough time and are a good team also, but we showed we are also a very good team and it is not easy to beat us.
It was important for me to get the goal for the team and these three big points,” Osimhen told DAZN.
The Nigerian striker was seen doing a hand gesture after scoring the goal and he revealed that he was dedicating the goal to his girlfriend and daughter.
“The hand gesture is for my daughter and my girlfriend. Every time I score a goal, I dedicate it to them, they are the most important thing to me.
Those five weeks out were tough for me and they gave me the motivation to keep going.”
The win makes it the 11th consecutive win for Napoli in all competitions something they last achieved under coach Ottavio Bianchi from April to September 1986.
In 1986, the wins were from the end of the 1985 season until a few months into the start of the 1986 season, making this season’s win the first ever for Napoli in a single season.
“Just like I said last time, we have great solidarity in the team, everyone knows what they need to do at the right time.
We just want to keep building on this momentum, the season is still young, so we are taking it one game at a time. Of course I am proud of this team.”
