Osimhen Focused on Galatasaray Amid Transfer Speculation
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is fully focused on his season with Galatasaray, despite rumours linking him with a move away. His representatives have denied reports of transfer talks with Saudi club Al Hilal or any other team.
Osimhen, who joined the Turkish champions on loan from Napoli, has been in top form, attracting interest from major clubs in Europe and the Middle East. However, his agent, George Gardi, has dismissed any speculation about an immediate transfer.
Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb, as reported by BeinSports, Gardi made it clear that Osimhen is committed to Galatasaray.
“There have been no discussions, now or in the past,” Gardi said. “Victor promised to stay in Istanbul for the season, and he is keeping his word. He has not considered any transfer offers.”
Thriving in Turkey
Osimhen has settled well at Galatasaray, with Gardi highlighting how much he enjoys life in Istanbul.
“He is not the first big star to play here,” Gardi added. “Many top players have enjoyed their time in this city, and Victor is no different. He loves the atmosphere and has adapted perfectly.”
The Nigerian forward played a key role in Napoli’s Serie A title win in 2023, finishing as the league’s top scorer—the first African to win the Capocannoniere award. Now, he is aiming for another league title, with Galatasaray leading the Turkish Super Lig ahead of rivals Fenerbahce, coached by José Mourinho.
Keeping His Focus
Despite ongoing speculation about his future, Gardi insists that Osimhen’s priority is helping Galatasaray win silverware.
“The decision about his future will come later,” he said. “Right now, his focus is on making a big impact this season.”
Osimhen has been in outstanding form, scoring 26 goals and providing five assists in 30 matches for Galatasaray. His performances have strengthened his reputation as one of Europe’s most dangerous strikers.
International Success
The Super Eagles star has also been in fine form for Nigeria, scoring three goals in two recent matches—twice in a 2-0 win over Rwanda and another in a 1-1 draw with Zimbabwe.
With 26 international goals, he is now Nigeria’s second-highest scorer of all time, behind the legendary Rashidi Yekini, who netted 37 times for the Super Eagles.
Premier League Interest Grows
Osimhen is expected to be one of the most sought-after strikers in the summer transfer window. Top Premier League clubs—including Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Newcastle—are reportedly interested in signing him when his loan ends.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is now open to selling Osimhen permanently and has set a reported €75 million release clause.
A Premier League Future?
Osimhen was close to joining Chelsea last summer, but negotiations fell through, leading to his move to Turkey. Now, with Napoli ready to sell, several clubs are preparing bids.
According to Sky Sports, Manchester United could be strong contenders, as they look to improve their attacking options. Paris Saint-Germain, once considered favourites, are now said to be less interested, with manager Luis Enrique unsure if Osimhen fits into his plans.
Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong recently hinted that Osimhen’s future could be in England.
“I know he’s a Chelsea fan, but he has spoken to all the top clubs,” Troost-Ekong told TalkSport. “It’s up to him where he goes. He can fit into any team.”
“I think Liverpool are looking for a new striker. We will see what happens.”
With interest growing and Napoli ready to sell, Osimhen’s next move could be one of the biggest transfer stories of the summer. However, for now, his focus remains on finishing the season strongly with Galatasaray.
