Osimhen focused on team success over personal glory at Galatasaray
Victor Osimhen has stated that his main focus at Galatasaray is the success of the team, not personal achievements. The Nigerian striker has made an impressive start since joining the Turkish club on loan from Napoli after a failed move to Chelsea.
The forward has scored two goals and provided three assists in five matches across all competitions. Speaking on Galatasaray’s YouTube channel, Osimhen said, “I didn’t come here to chase the top scorer award. My goal is to contribute to the team’s success.”
Osimhen also praised teammate Mauro Icardi, calling him a “legend” and expressing excitement about working with him. “We’ve shown we can play well together. Scoring goals is important, but I care more about helping the team win,” he added.
The striker explained that he aims to support his teammates in both attack and defence, as instructed by the coach. “I’ll give my all. Whether I score or assist, the team’s collective success matters most.”
Osimhen recently ended a goal drought by scoring twice in a thrilling 3-3 draw against Kasimpasa but sustained an injury during the match. Due to the injury, he missed Nigeria’s international games in October and is now working on regaining fitness ahead of Galatasaray’s next Super Lig fixture against Antalyaspor.
