Osimhen Injury confirmed by Napoli
A statement on the Napoli official website has confirmed Injury to Victor Osimhen during the International Friendly between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.
The forward was in action for the Super Eagles but was forced off early in the second half with Injury and so missed the 3-2 win over Mozambique to end a 15-game Friendly winless streak.
Recall that Super Eagles Head Coach Jose Peseiro offered update that the Nigerian hitman will undergo MRI scan to ascertain the severity and level of Injury suffered.
Osimhen then left the Super Eagles camp to Italy where his club Napoli have conducted medical assessment on their player and emerged with a statement on Monday, October 16.
According to Napoli, as posted on the official club website , the striker has suffered a medium-grade lesion of the biceps femoris in his right thigh.
It is expected that Osimhen will be ruled out for at least three of Napoli’s next matches.
Reports in Italy suggest that the usual recovery time for this injury is around four to six weeks.
The forward will miss Napoli’s clash against Hellas Verona in Serie A, as well as the Champions League trip to Union Berlin, as well as the visit from Milan the following weekend.
Also, Osimhen is a doubt for the next two matches involving the Nigeria National team.
The Super Eagles will host Lesotho at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on November 13, before the three-time African champions will travel away to Zimbabwe for their next fixture three days later.
