Osimhen makes peace with Napoli manager, teammates after Bologna incident
Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has made peace with Napoli manager Rudi Garcia and his teammates after reacting angrily to being substituted at Bologna.
Osimhen was taken off in the 86th minute and raged words at Napoli Coach Rudi Garcia, to sum a frustrating outing with the Nigerian forward hitting the upright, missing a penalty and a 4th game without scoring a goal.
A visibly angry Osimhen was seen explaining to Garcia that it was necessary to play with two center-forwards, rather than having him replaced by Simeone.
According to Gazzeta dello Sport, Osimhen apologized to his coach and team-mates after his outbursts which he says were as a result of his desire to win.
Speaking on that episode, Napoli skipper Giovanni Di Lorenzo highlighted the need for unity as the club struggles to replicate last season’s Scudetto winning form.
Di Lorenzo said ” We manage certain episodes in the dressing room. They become more obvious when things go wrong”.
” We need to be united and focused on the goal. We’ll talk to the group and the coach to resolve this .”
