Osimhen named emerging player of the year ahead of Gavi, & Valverde at Globe Soccer award

Victor Osimhen has beaten off competition from Barcelona player Gavi and Real Madrid star Federico Valverde to the Powerhorse emerging player of the year award.
The Super Eagles star was announced as the winner at the award ceremony which took place in Dubai on Thursday where other winners in different categories emerged.
Victor Osimhen was described as a true champion and revelation of European football on the organizers’ website.
“The 23-year-old Nigerian, who has been a champion since he won the under 17 world title with Nigeria, today plays in the stadium named after Maradona, and in the team that is dominating the Italian championship and that of the Champions League, thanks to Spalletti’s game.
“Osimhen and Naples are the true revelations of European football and won the group cup by achieving success in five games out of six, surpassing Liverpool and beating Ajax in Holland by scoring six goals.”
