Osimhen on fire, nets again in Napoli triumph over Torino
Striker helping Napoli reach Champions League spots
Victor Osimhen scored a brilliant goal for Napoli as they ran out 2-0 winners against Torino at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino in their Serie A encounter on Monday.
Chelsea loanee, Tiemoue Bakayoko opened the scoring for Napoli in the 11th minute before the 22 year old Osimhen added a second quite memorably. From defending a corner, a Napoli defender booted the ball clear and the last man in Torino’s half gained possession, but was promptly pressed by Osimhen who retrieved the ball and was able to use his blistering pace to get away from the chasing pack before showing brilliant composure to slot the ball beyond the reach of the Torino goalkeeper in the 13th minute of the game which ended 2-0.
Osimhen is finally beginning to hit the heights that prompted Napoli to make him the most expensive African player ever when they signed him from Lille, and his return of 4 goals in his last 6 matches has coincided with the return to form of Napoli as the club are now in third place on the Serie A log, above Juventus in fourth and AC Milan in fifth on goal difference. Osimhen has scored a total of 7 goals in just 11 starts for Napoli this season.
