Osimhen Opens Up on Injury and On-Field Clash with Liverpool Players

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has spoken about his clash with Liverpool players during their UEFA Champions League match.
Galatasaray won the first leg 1-0 and were hoping to reach the quarter-finals for the first time in many years. However, their hopes were damaged early in the second leg at Anfield.
Just seven minutes into the game, Osimhen collided with Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konaté and suffered a serious injury to his right arm.
While he was receiving treatment on the pitch, Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai appeared to think he was wasting time and asked him to get up, which led to a brief exchange.
Osimhen could not continue properly and was taken off at half-time.
With him off the pitch, Liverpool took control of the game and scored several goals to win 4-1 on aggregate and qualify for the next round.
Speaking after the match, Osimhen revealed that both Szoboszlai and Konate later apologised to him.
“I’m not scared of anything. I’ve faced so much in life. Szoboszlai and I had an on-field conversation.
“After the game, he came to meet me and mentioned he didn’t know the injury was as serious.
“Konate also messaged me on Instagram and told me he didn’t mean to harm me. It’s football, these things happen.”
The striker is expected to undergo surgery on his arm, and his recovery time will be known after the operation.
