Osimhen remains Super Eagles undisputed striker – Etim Esin
Ex Nigerian International Etim Esin is confident Napoli forward Victor Osimhen will remain Super Eagles undisputed striker despite the form of his International teammates.
Super Eagles Head Coach Jose Peseiro handed invitation to in-form forwards Victor Boniface and Gift Orban to raise comments over Osimhen’s undisputed status.
According to Esin as first quoted by Complete Sports, Victor Osimhen is the second best striker in the world after Erling Haaland and so cannot be displaced in the Super Eagles team.
Esin said ” I really don’t think there is any striker that can displace Osimhen from that position.
” Osimhen remains Eagles undisputed striker as far as I am concern.
” In Europe at the moment, he’s second after Man City’s Erling Haaland. The likes of Boniface and Orban are good players took but Osimhen is still the best.”
Nigeria will face Sao Tome and Principe in the final 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying game on Sunday September 10.
With the Eagles already qualified for the AFCON, Super Eagles Head Coach Jose Peseiro may be tempted to hand the top strikers role to one of the new boys or may stick with Osimhen who has eyes on clipping Rashidi Yekini’s all-time goal-scoring record.
