Osimhen wins 2023 Italian Serie A best player award
Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen has been named 2023 Italian Serie A Best Player of the year at the AIC Oscar Del Calcio awards ceremony.
Osimhen’s latest recognition adds to a packed award-list for his superlative performance in the 2022/2023 season.
Recall that the Super Eagle scored 31 goals in 39 games to help Napoli win their first Scudetto in 33 years and also reach a first-ever UEFA Champions League quater-final.
Osimhen was also included in the Serie team of the year alongside Mike Maignan, Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Kim Min-jae, Andrea Bastoni, Theo Hernández, Stanislav Lobotka, Hakan Çalhanoğlu, Nicolo Barella, Rafael Leão, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
After finishing as the highest ranked African on the Ballon D’or award-list [8th], Osimhen will arrive at the 2023 CAF awards in Morocco as favourite to be crowned Africa’s best.
The striker was joined by his girlfriend, Stephanie Ladewig for the AIS Calcio Awards ceremony.
