Panetolikos new-signing Afeez Nosiru targets Wilfred Ndidi’s Super Eagles spot
Following his transfer from Nigerian club Kwara United FC to Greek club Panetolikos, Afeez Nosiru has revealed he is targeting Wilfred Ndidi’s holding Midfield spot for the Super Eagles.
With three caps for the Super Eagles B team, 24-year old Afeez is confident his move to Europe will help him establish himself and then push to replace Ndidi in the Super Eagles A team.
” This move is a dream come true for me because I have for years been craving to play in Europe,” Afeez Nosiru told SPORTS BRIEF after completing his move to Panetolikos.
” I am here to establish myself and see what happens in the future.
” Another thing I have as a target is for me to enter the main Super Eagles team and replace Ndidi because I know that I can deliver more than him.”
An audacious target it is for Afeez as Wilfred Ndidi has been a mainstay in the Super Eagles team. Infact whenever he is fit, the Leicester City Midfielder is first choice for the holding Midfield role for Nigeria.
To displace Ndidi and make the Super Eagles number 4 shirt his own, Afeez Nosiru must catch the attention of Super Eagles handlers with scintillating performances at Panetolikos.
His new club Panetolikos currently sit in 7th place on the league standings following Sunday’s 1-0 home win over Ionikos.
The former Kwara United FC Midfielder did not make the Matchday squad for that game but will hopefully get his bow soon.
