Paul Onuachu expresses desire to stay at Trabzonspor
Nigerian international Paul Onuachu has expressed his intention to remain at Trabzonspor despite a proposed return to Southampton FC.
Onuachu, who previously struggled during a brief stint at Southampton, found recovered his goalscoring form after joining Trabzonspor on a season-long loan in the Süper Lig.
Despite facing some injury setbacks, he quickly became an important player for the Turkish club, with nine goals and three assists in 18 appearances.
Speaking to Fotomac, Onuachu revealed his happiness at Trabzon and his desire for his family to continue residing there. “I am very happy in Trabzon. My family and I want to stay here,” he stated, as quoted by Saints Socialite.
Trabzonspor reportedly plans to offer Southampton an extension of Onuachu’s loan with an option to buy, indicating their keenness to retain the Nigerian striker.
