What Happened?
During Man City’s 2-0 loss to Liverpool at Anfield, Liverpool fans chanted, “You’re getting sacked in the morning.” Guardiola responded by raising six fingers, a reminder of his six Premier League titles as City manager.
Guardiola’s Dig at Mourinho
In a post-match interview with Sky Sports, Guardiola commented on the gesture, referencing Mourinho’s famous three-finger celebration from his time at Chelsea.
“Jose Mourinho did this to show he won three Premier League titles. I’ve won six,” Guardiola said.
He added:
“I don’t even remember those three titles he mentioned. But respect to him and all the other managers. People compare this to when Jose was at Manchester United. I hope it’s not the same for me. We both work with similar passion.”
