Peter Ita, Seun, and Isaac George on Target as Godswill Akpabio United FC Defeat Dakkada FC in Preseason Clash
Godswill Akpabio United FC continued their fine preseason form with a convincing 4–0 victory over Dakkada FC as preparations for the new Nigeria National League (NNL) season enter the final phase.
The match, played at the Uyo Township Stadium, saw Godswill Akpabio United take an early lead through an own goal before Blessed Stars Academy product, Peter Ita, doubled the advantage before half-time.
In the second half, defender Seun Oloke extended the lead with a well-taken goal, while Isaac George sealed the win with a composed finish to make it 4–0.
The result marked a strong response from Godswill Akpabio United FC, who had narrowly lost 1–0 to Akwa United FC just days earlier at the same venue.
For Dakkada FC, the match provided Coach Emmanuel King with another chance to assess his newly assembled squad, which has been in training for less than a month.
Dakkada FC will return to action on Friday at 8am. when they face Akwa United FC at the Uyo Township Stadium.
The 2025 NNL season is set to kick off on November 8, but all three Akwa Ibom-based teams — Akwa United FC, Dakkada FC, and Godswill Akpabio United FC — will play their opening matches between November 14 and 16.
