The Super Eagles of Nigeria were wingless in their 1-1 draw against the Carthage Eagles in Austria on Tuesday.
Nigeria were out to end the their Austrian friendly with a win after suffering a 1-0 loss in their first friendly against Algeria.
But they failed to achieve their goal as they were forced to a 1-1 after a elbow par display from the boys.

GK Maduka Okoye (8/10)
The Sparta Rotterdam was extremely confident, looked relaxed, composed in between the goal post.
He was in good shape throughout the game and gave a good performance.
Had no answer to the goal, not sure any goalie would save that. He made three important saves including a tip over the bar.
CB Kenneth Omeruo (3/10)
The CD Leganes player didn’t help himself with the sort of display he gave against Tunisia on Tuesday.
Kenneth Omeruo was practical destroyed for Tunisia equaliser, he 100% was at fault for the goal.
He looked like a better player in the second half especially in the area of ball distribution.
CB Leon Balogun (3/10)
The Glasgow Rangers defender gave an okay display, he was subbed off for Chidozie Awaziem in the second half.
CB Kevin Akpoguma (6/10)
For me, going forward it has to be Kevin and any other player in Super Eagles Central defence.
He looked comfortable throughout the game, he started off on the right as a defence wing back then played in the central after Leon Balogun was withdrawn.
Kevin Akpoguma was on the pitch all through the match and gave a good account of himself in what was his first ever start and second ever game for Nigeria.
LWB Zaidu Sanusi (4/10)
The FC Porto in his second ever game for Eagles doesn’t look like the answer to me.
Zaidu looked good defensively but thwarted all the teams effort going forward. His contribution in the attack was just not good.
It is just his second game in Super Eagles jersey and maybe with time he would find his feet.
DMF Oluwasemilogo Ajayi (6/10)
West Bromwich Albion should be the Kevin Akpoguma partner in new Super Eagles defence for me.
Played in the defensive midfield role in the absence of Wilfred Ndidi and did a decent job.
He was defensively alert but couldn’t really move the ball like a regular midfielder.
AML Moses Simon (4/10)
It was surprising that the FC Nantes attacker was on for the that long on Tuesday.
Played in a familiar role against Tunisia but was largely ineffective.
Moses Simon didn’t add anything special to the team, almost guilty of gifting away a penalty in the early minutes but Tunisia call was overlooked by the Austrian referee.
AMF Alex Iwobi (7/10)
When he puts on the Nigeria jersey he goes into the beast mood in most of the games.
The Everton man was the plug between the midfield and the attack and he didn’t disappoint.
Could have done alot better but he made good use of what he had. He was constantly moving on the pitch getting involved in both attacking and defensive duties
AMR Samuel Chukwueze (4/1₩)
I am a huge Samu fan but he needs to step up. He didn’t have the best of games against Algeria on Friday and was poor again yesterday against Tunisia.
He has the potential to be the best in the world but currently has a lot of work to do.
Apart from the dribbles he made late in the second half, Samuel Chukwueze was practically missing.
In fact, the commentator mentioned at a point that Super Eagles have not been attacking through Samuel Chukwueze flank.
SS Ahmed Musa (3/10)
Not impressed by his display. Not the best of games for the Super Eagles captain.
You could hear the commentator questioning his fitness.
ST Kelechi Iheanacho (5/10)
The former City striker scored a beautiful goal and could have sealed the game for the Super Eagles but he missed from the 12 yards.
With competition for places in the striking role, Kelechi Iheanacho didn’t do himself any good with his performance on Tuesday.
He was desperately trying to do too much. He wasted too many set pieces but his goal was beautifully taken.
With Victor Osimhen sure of a place in the striking role, Kelechi Iheanacho is above Paul Onuachu in my book.
Substitutes
RW Chidera Ejuke (6/10)
Chidera Ejuke was on the pitch for less than 10 minutes but his impact was more felt than what Simon Moses and Samuel Chukwueze offered.
He caused the Tunisians a lot of problem for the short time he was on the pitch.
Guess we need to see more of him, he was the solution to the Tunisians low block.
LWB Jamilu Collins (NA)
Coach: Gernot Rohr (3/10)
If the excuse was, ‘I was testing new boys’ then he could be given a pass, but if not his selections and tactics for both games not good at all.
The talents of these guys not fully optimised by him. He obviously hasn’t found the right tactics for the bunch of talented players at his disposal.
